FMGE Hoards of Indian students travel abroad for their medical education owing to fewer seats and stiff competition in the country. Such students required to pass the screening test conducted by the MCI before they can start a medical practice. Data shows that from 2012 & 2016, only 16% of those appeared for the screening tests have passed. The medical colleges in India can take about 67000 annually while those of engineering colleges is about 25 times of that number.
